2018: THE YEAR TO CONNECT AND TO INSPIRE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media tips for go-getter business owners looking to create meaningful connections and see results!

SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING WITH INTENTION IS THE NEW BLACK!

See, 2017 was supposed to be a big year, and it was, but not as I imagined. I lost people and business; I did not reach my financial goal (although I came very close). What did I do? I took every opportunity that came way, and that meant “vulnerability.”

Last year, I experienced many “first time moments.” I walked through doors with confidence to get the job done, no prep or time to give “excuses” the chance to whisper in my ear. 2017 was a year to unlearn and do some deep-digging to build the foundation for a new chapter. 2017 was the year to grasp the concept “Community Over Competition,” and a year to connect with others.

Rituals: There is something extraordinary about committing to that one thing that will change things along the way, and that will inspire you. For example, every month I change the wallpaper on my Mac. To me, it marks the preparation for a new month, a clean slate to set goals, and January’s wallpaper reads: “A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor,” so right!

Make This New Year YOUR YEAR!

What if I tell you that your brand has more stories than you think?

When you sit down to work on your 2018 social media marketing strategy, go back to your WHY, be very clear about it and post with purpose.

Think about why is your product or service better than the one across from you? Why should people trust you? Why are patients and customers coming back to you when they could go somewhere else? Why do they feel you earned reviews and are willing to give them?

When you post with intention, you are letting people see you as a business that is real, that inspires and is willing to connect at a deeper level through your stories.

Content marketing and social media marketing with intention can improve potential referral business from existing patients and clients, I have seen it, I have done it. Not just for my brand but clients. The thing is, setting a clear marketing objective is the only way to ensure you give your audience value from spending time on your social media channels.

For dentists, for example. A Facebook page will introduce their practice to prospective new patients through information delivered to them from a friend of their own trusted network through a like, share, comment, check-in, review, tag. That is called WOM (word of mouth). How can you say NO to that?

TAKEAWAYS:

1. Social Media is here to stay. If used correctly, it can strengthen current relationships, increase positive WOM and generate leads.
2. Social media can allow you to reach out to new prospects while providing TLC to your loyal fans.
3. What’s the recipe? Consistency and expertise! Get real on social media by having a clear roadmap, and be willing to try different tactics.
4. Posting without intention is not going to get your brand far. It is in fact, going to send your message straight to the “dislike” button.

To my clients, family, colleagues, and friends: May 2018 be a year to connect, to inspire, and a year filled with many stories to share. Cheers to YOU!
